How To Add Blog Posts To Your WordPress Website

One of the best things that you can do on your WordPress website is to write blog posts. If you’re not sure how to start blogging on your WordPress website then this guide is for you!

Follow these steps and before you know it, you will be creating blogs like a pro.

Step 1.

First, you want to navigate to the dashboard.  Your dashboard is located in the ‘back-end’ of your website which is basically the control center of your website.

Once you have arrived at your dashboard you’re going to hover over where it says “Posts” and click on “Add New”.

However, if you already have a prior blog post published on your website, then you can click “Duplicate This” and change the Title and Slug of the post through the “Quick Edit” then, you will be able to preview the post and change up all of the duplicated content from the original post.

Step 2.

Keep in mind, when creating a blog post, there are several different elements provided that can not only beautify your post, but help format your post best for SEO purposes. You can refer to these elements in the “modules” section of the page when working on your blog post. In order to access the modules, and edit the content on the page, you must turn on the builder, which you will see on the top of the page.

In addition, under modules, you will find multiple features such as rows, images, videos, divider, button, gallery and much more. It’s essential to add rows per each section of your blog post. When adding headings, you can insert a “fancy heading” or, “text” and turn the title into the appropriate heading text.

Step 3.

After creating your post, it’s time to focus on writing your content. It is highly advised to create a draft of your blog post in a Google document first.

When creating content, it’s essential to focus on how to format your content best for SEO purposes. This is important in order for your blog post to rank high in search engine results.

Moreover, formatting content includes your H1, H2, H3, and P. Your H1 tag must always contain your targeted keywords, ones that are closely related to the page title and are relevant to the content that you are writing.

Your H2 tag is a subheading and must contain similar keywords to your H1 tag. Next, your H3 tag is a subheading for your H2 tag. Lastly, your paragraph is all of the text that is not an H1, H2, H3, etc.

Step 4.

When you’re done uploading and proofreading your blog post… your content is not ready for publishing yet. It’s now time to look at Yoast SEO recommendations to ensure that your post is best optimized.

After you navigate to the back-end of the website and click on “Posts,” you can hover over your blog post and click on “Edit.”

Here, you can add a featured image to your blog post, add a meta description, add a focus key phrase, and much more by analyzing the Yoast SEO recommendations.

You will be able to take a look at the Yoast readability analysis along with the SEO analysis. For example, if your content has a high percentage of passive voice, you can use the tool Passive Voice Detector to determine which sentences in your text contains passive voice.
